CHARLES R. VAN RYN
Charles (Chuck) Van Ryn taught Marketing at RMU for many years, mainly at the Pittsburgh Center. He was well known for his sense of humor and his rapport with his students and his colleagues. Although retired, he remained actively interested in RMU, attending events such as the Faculty/Staff Christmas Party and the 20 year club dinners. Chuck Van Ryn will be greatly missed.

VAN RYN CHARLES R.
Age 67, of McCandless, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010. Husband of the late Judith C. (Carraher); brother of Dolores (Charles) LeGrand, Ilona Van Ryn, Denise (Gary) Schnelle, Deborah (Mark) Connors and the late Shirley (the late Sonny) Rodgers; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chuck was a retired marketing professor at Robert Morris University and he was an avid Nascar fan. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. 412-364-4444 where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation/MMRF, 383 Main Ave., Fifth Flr., Norwalk, CT 06851.

Marketing Research Presentations - Spring 2010
Senior Finance Manager Larry E. Nolph reviewed Marketing Research Presentations on Friday, March 19th. The students were presenting the research results for two new product concepts. These concepts were developed in conjunction with a class of engineering students. Based on the research results Mr. Nolph chose which of the two proposed concepts would go into development. The engineering students will now develop a prototype for the winning concept and present their prototypes in late April.
