Practice Interviews

will be conducting 3 practice interviews this WEDNESDAY (11/14) in the RMU Career Center.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY!  Not only will you get honest feedback about YOUR resume and interview skills, you'll get a chance to impress this premier employer!
Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.    NOTE:  You do not need to have an interest in working for PNC to benefit from doing a practice interview with them.
WHY DO A PRACTICE (MOCK) INTERVIEW? -Receive honest feedback about your interview and resume from a qualified professional -Be more prepared for upcoming interviews -Network with potential employers (some of these organizations have current positions available, although you don't need to be interested in the organization to do a mock with them.) -Get a job/ internship (The most qualified candidate does not always get the job or internship!  How you present yourself during the interview is critical.)
Mocks are posted in ColonialTRAK under 'On-campus Interviews'.  Refer to the Career Center website at www.rmu.edu/careercenter.
  1. Click on the ColonialTRAK tab in the left column of the screen.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. On the ColonialTRAK main menu page, select 'On Campus Interviews' on the top toolbar. Then choose 'Sign up for Interviews.
  4. The practice interviews will all have 'MOCK' as the Employer Name.  The Linked Job will say 'Practice Interview,' then list applicable majors and the organization that will be conducting the practice interview.  The MOCK with PNC will be near the bottom of the current listings.
  5. To sign up for a schedule that interests you, click on the 'Linked Job' of that posting.
  6. On the next screen, scroll down below the yellow line and click on 'Interview Date' that you prefer.
  7. On the next screen, scroll to the bottom of the page, which will show you time slots that are still available.  Click the 'Sign up' button next to the time slot that fits your schedule, and then click "Sign up."  The schedule will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  8. Note:  You must have a resume uploaded in ColonialTRAK to sign up for a practice interview.
Please note that the Career Center's On-Campus Recruiting Policy applies to students participating in practice interviews.
Canceling Interviews
It is expected that students/alumni will honor their obligation to keep their interview reservation. If a student/alumnus finds it is necessary to cancel an interview, the student/alumnus must notify the Career Center at least 24 hours before the time of an interview scheduled Tuesday through Friday and 72 hours before a Monday interview appointment.
No-Show/Late Cancellation Policy
Students/alumni who "No-Show" or "Late Cancel" an interview will be required to send a letter of apology to the employer and give a copy of the letter to the Career Center before the student/alumnus may participate in any additional campus interviews. A student/alumnus who "No Shows" or "Late Cancels" a total of two times in any combination will forfeit their interviewing privileges for the remainder of the academic year.
Late Arrival to Interviews
If a student is late for an interview, it is up to the discretion of the employer as to whether the interview with the student will be conducted.
Bad Weather Policy
If classes are canceled because of inclement weather, interviews will also be canceled. Please contact the Career Center to reschedule your interview.
